Hillcrest reconstruction update

This update has been edited to reflect a change in work schedule to June 12 due to ground conditions.

Reconstruction work in Hillcrest is continuing.

Between Friday, May 29 and Friday, June 12, the City’s contractor, Castle Rock Enterprises, is preparing Summit Road for resurfacing from Hillcrest Drive to Roundel Road.

Access to driveways and parking stalls on this segment of Summit Road will not be available while this work is underway.

Four mature trees require removal in order for the work to be completed safely. While the City had been planning to keep these trees in place, it was determined they would need to be removed for safety purposes.

There are no changes to Whitehorse Transit bus routes as a result of this work, but school bus routes may vary.

This work is part of the reconstruction project that began in 2025.

The City thanks the public for their patience as we work on this important infrastructure project.
