Update #3: Reconstruction Phase 1A

Phase 1A of the Hillcrest Reconstruction project is starting in Spring 2025.


Work in Phase 1A will focus on:

  • Deep and shallow utility upgrades along Roundel Road (west of Summit Road)
  • Replacement of the sanitary main under the Summit Road greenbelt
  • Re-surfacing of Summit Road south of Roundel Road


The current timeline for Phase 1A work is

  • May 2025: boulevard removals and tree clearing to prepare construction sites.
  • June to July 2025: Shallow utility upgrades in conjunction with ATCO Electric Yukon and Northwestel.
  • July to October 2025: Deep utility upgrades.
  • 2026: Phase 1A road re-surfacing, landscaping, general restoration, and planning for Phase 1B.


Continuing in May 2025, City staff will engage with residents in and around Phase 1A to provide information about work plans, schedule, temporary utility disruptions, and temporary access and parking.
