Help shape Whitehorse's Housing Action Plan

Whitehorse recently completed a Housing Needs Assessment, a detailed study of who lives here, what housing exists, and what's missing. The Housing Action Plan is the City's response.

On October 1, the City hosted a webinar in partnership with Cityspaces Consulting to introduce work conducted so far and provide an opportunity for feedback on the proposed Housing Action Plan framework and next steps. You can view a recording of the webinar here.

Residents are encouraged to provide input into the plan by completing a survey. The survey shares key findings from the Housing Needs Assessment and asks what you think of some of the ideas the City is exploring. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question. In the Housing Action Plan Framework, supporting residential growth with sufficient infrastructure capacity is one of the goals we have identified to help address the housing needs of the community across the entire housing network. While we recognize other government partners have a role to play in providing sufficient electrical power capacity for our growing community, the City can play a part by improving the integration of land development and infrastructure planning in its decision-making processes.
