Housing Action Plan
The City is working on a Housing Action Plan to help address the gap between the number of homes available and the needs of the community.
The plan will be informed by:
- the Housing Needs Assessment;
- the Official Community Plan’s Residential Growth Strategy;
- feedback from the community; and
- other relevant research and background information.

Help shape Whitehorse's Housing Action Plan
Whitehorse recently completed a Housing Needs Assessment, a detailed study of who lives here, what housing exists, and what's missing. The Housing Action Plan is the City's response.
On October 1, the City hosted a webinar in partnership with Cityspaces Consulting to introduce work conducted so far and provide an opportunity for feedback on the proposed Housing Action Plan framework and next steps. You can view a recording of the webinar here.
Residents are encouraged to provide input into the plan by completing a survey. The survey shares key findings from the Housing Needs Assessment and asks what you think of some of the ideas the City is exploring. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.
